2017 events ‘in the planning’:

April 28-29, 2017 is our annual trip to southern Ohio for the first big wave of spring migration at Shawnee State Park near Portsmouth. Plan on joining fellow birders for excellent presentations, a chance to greet birds on their entry to Ohio for the summer and enjoy the charm of Shawnee State Park lodge . . . and, enjoy the wonderful fellowship of a bunch of fun, avid birding friends!

MARSH MADNESS – May has so many birding adventures to explore, but The Biggest Week in American Birding is an exceptional annual event from May 6-15 in NW Ohio. During the event, OOS, in cooperation with ODNR, will be conducting beginner bird walks on Saturday May 13, and Sunday May 14. Groups will be led by experienced birders at Magee Marsh boardwalk area to help identify the warblers and other songbirds that are seen migrating through the area. Watch for further information early in 2017 to get signed up.
