Would you like to bird the beautiful Cuyahoga Valley National Park in the peak of nesting season? If you have never – you are missing something!

This will be the seventh annual OOS CVNP day trip. We hope to pick up some late migrants and some early nesters as we bird the beautiful Cuyahoga Valley where bird species abound this time of year! And, a bonus might be butterfly species, turtles, snakes, plants – this could be an ‘all-around’ trip.

We hope to visit Horseshoe Pond (Blue-winged Warblers); Deep Lock Quarry (Cerulean Warbler, Baltimore Oriole, various other warblers???); Everett Road (swallow species and possible Soft-shelled Turtles); Indigo Lake; and on to Ira Trailhead for a myriad of species. We may bird other areas as time permits with our last stop will be Bath Road for the Great Blue Heron Rookery. This is always an eventful day trip – don’t know what we’ll find – be sure to bring your camera!!

TRIP IS FREE, BUT WILL BE LIMITED TO 15 PEOPLE, SO IF YOU ARE PLANNING ON ATTENDING, PLEASE REGISTER AS SOON AS YOU CAN SO YOU CAN GET ON “THE LIST”!

We will meet at 8 a.m. at Happy Days Lodge (parking lot) just off St. Rt 8 exit to Rt. 303 W. towards Peninsula. About a mile down the street on the right – parking lot on the right (Happy Days Lodge – sign). For more information please email: sue.evanoff@ohiobirds.org

You will want to bring snacks and a lunch – don’t know where we’ll be at lunchtime and there are lots of places where we can stop to eat a sack lunch.
