On November 5, 2016 the Ohio Young Birders Club will be holding their 10th Annual Conference at the Toledo Zoo. Young birders and adults from around Ohio and the nation will gather to enjoy a day full of field trips, presentations made by the young birders themselves, an interactive Kaufman Bird ID Quiz, and a keynote presentation by Phil Chaon on Zugunruhe: A Life in Pursuit of Birds. Other conference highlights include behind-the-scenes tours of the zoo, a variety of bird-friendly door prizes, and an optics raffle to cap off the event.
The Ohio Young Birders Club (OYBC) is a program developed by Black Swamp Bird Observatory (BSBO) in 2006 to encourage, educate, and empower our youth conservation leaders. A program for young people aged 12-18, the OYBC has become a model for youth birding programs around the country. For more information about the OYBC, please visit ohioyoungbirders.org.
